Camilty Cottage is a 300 year old converted stone steading situated next to our former farmhouse at Harburn, West Lothian.
We are in the central belt of Scotland, just south of Livingston but deep in the countryside.
Reach us along winding single track roads and a short stretch of farm track, and enjoy the beautiful countryside on our doorstep: we are surrounded by Harburn Estate, and Pentland Hills Regional Park lies just to the south.
Camilty Cottage is an ideal base for an outdoor break with straight from the doorstep walking, mountain biking, trail running, and fishing.
We are less than 3 miles from Livingston South train station, 10 minutes drive from Junction 3 of the M8 motorway, and just 25 minutes drive from Edinburgh airport (outside of rush hour).
You can leave Camilty Cottage and be on Princes Street (Edinburgh) within 30 minutes, or Buchanan Street (Glasgow) in 50 minutes.
Walk/Cycle in Pentland Hills Regional Park, Beecraigs and Almonvale Country Parks, or straight from the door! Golf at Harburn golf course, Dalmahoy and many others. Fish at Morton, Beecraigs and Harperigg.
Livingston has excellent shopping (including the MacArthur Glen outlet centre), cinemas, restaurants and supermarkets.
West Lothian is home to the Kelpies Falkirk Wheel, Linlithgow Palace (birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots), Hopetoun House, Boness Steam Railway, the Scottish Owl Centre and lots more.
There are excellent rail and road links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the rest of Scotland...
